Today:  Dr. Vanessa Allen McCloud, the president and CEO of the Urban League of Northwest Indiana joins us to talk about the 6th Annual Diversity and Inclusion Awards Luncheon, to be held on March 22nd in Merrillville.   She explains the categories for this year's awards -- how applicants can put in nominations for them -- and how the awards fit in with the Urban League's goals of promoting, encouraging and enhancing services for all minority groups in northwest Indiana.  The deadline for applications for this year's awards is February 16th.

Today:   Hoosier Environmental Council executive director Jesse Kharbanda joins us to talk about the HEC's 2018 General Assembly policy priorities -- one of which isn't usually considered an environmental issue.  More information about them all is on the HEC website.

Carl Lisek of South Shore Clean Cities has the first episode of "Green Fleet Radio," a regular Wednesday feature on "Regionally Speaking."  He talks today with two Indiana Department of Environmental Management staffers:  Shawn Beals, the senior environmental manager and his colleague Ryan Clem.

Miller Spotlight

Today:  Kelly Anoe, Vice President with the Legacy Foundation of Lake County, is in the studio to give us a broad perspective on the art scene in the city of Gary -- including "ArtHouse: A Social Kitchen" and other very visible projects.  The Legacy Foundation is the local funding link between the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and other public philanthropists and projects and programs in Lake County.  The foundation works with "ArtHouse" and the other Knight Cities Challenge grant recipients.
