FRIDAY,  DECEMBER 1st - 12:00-2:00pm

TOPIC:  "The 40th Anniversary of Punk Rock"

In Studio Co-host:   JIM SKAFISH (punk pioneer and leader of the band SKAFISH)

Punk Rock started rumbling in the mid-1970s, but it finally exploded in a big way in 1977 when acts like The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Blondie and others roared out of London and New York City in what soon destroyed the bombastic progressive rock sound that was dominating the radio charts and playlists.  This year marks the 40th Anniversary of that explosion of sound and attitude -- and who better to co-host such a flashback program about punk music than -- JIM SKAFISH -- the Midwest music icon who was in the thick of it all AS it was happening.

JIM SKAFISH -- founder and leader of the pioneering punk band SKAFISH -- will be in-studio to co-host this two hour reflection on the rise of punk rock, which will feature songs from some of the pioneering groups like Skafish, as well as major breakthrough artists of the genre, including those mentioned above.
