Teen Vocalist Kills It When Covering Classic Crooners

Nov 16, 2017

This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" originally aired on Lakeshore Pulbic Radio on TUESDAY, NOV. 14, 2017

In-Studio Guest: JAKOB DELICH

JAKOB DELICH is  an 18-year-old that TOM LOUNGES stumbled across by sheer accident while online recently.   Impressed with the passion Delich has for the crooners of yesterday, and his ability to deliver their timeless tunes so incredibly well, it was a no-brainer to book the home school graduate as a guest, so others might discover this stellar local talent on the rise.

Delich has been described as an "old soul," because of his taste for vintage music and The Great American Songbook classics.

He also sings old-school country and gospel standards, which makes Delich a hit at weddings, nursing homes and similar events.  His repertoire includes tunes by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Dean Martin, among others.

The teen credits his grandparents and parents for introducing him to the music, while crediting God for the gift of voice and song.  Although he has no dislike for modern music, Delich said he prefers singing those "songs of deep timeless value that have positively impacted generations of American music-lovers."
