The legendary Northwest Indiana Doo-Wop Vocal Group -- THE SPANIELS FOREVER -- returned for a third year to the Lakeshore Public Radio Studios to join "Midwest BEAT" host Tom Lounges in sharing some holiday cheer and sing some wonderful holiday carols live on the air in their beautiful four-part harmonies.   

This radio performance was to preview of the group's FREE  HOLIDAY LUNCHTIME CONCERT performance in the main court of Southlake Shopping Mall on Friday, December 22nd at 12 Noon.   "The holidays are my favorite time of year," says 83-year-old bass singer/leader BILLY SHELTON"I love singing the old Christmas Carols!"

The iconic group have been part of the Northwest Indiana music scene since their first single -- "Baby It's You" -- for Vee Jay Records hit the R&B charts in 1954.  Of course their biggest song remains the international #1 hit, "Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight," which first climbed the charts in 1954 and has since been featured prominently in many films and television shows; among them "Three Men And A Baby," "American Graffiti," "American Hot Wax," and "Diner."

The current line-up of THE SPANIELS FOREVER also includes GENE STEWART, PATRICK PITRE and DAN PORTER.  Joining the quartet in-studio for this radio show and also expected to perform with the group at Southlake Mall -- guitarist PERNELL DAVIS and vocalist FRED DuBOIS.
