Membership Manager

Lakeshore Public Media is home to our publicly supported television (Lakeshore PBS), and radio (Lakeshore Public Radio – FM 89.1) stations along with our website, www.lakeshorepublicmedia.org, serving Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland. Our mission is to build a strong sense of community for the residents of Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland by being the leading force in connecting people, ideas and information though multiple, ongoing media and outreach activities.

Membership Manager Responsibilities:

The Membership Manager is responsible for the management of all television and radio membership operations. Success will be measured by the ability to achieve maximum member retention and growth through personal interaction and outstanding customer service while promoting the mission and values of Lakeshore Public Media.

The Membership Manager primary duties will include:

  • Provide and implement on-going ideas and strategies for member retention and growth.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, prospective members and the public.
  • Manage the membership database (Allegiance Fundraising), segmenting lists and ensuring donor information integrity.
  • Analyze revenue and other reports for senior management, import pledges and process payments.
  • Oversee Membership support staff on a daily basis.

The Membership Manager primary duties will include:

  • Coordinate local portions of on-air pledge drives.
  • Act as the lead contact between the membership department and its vendors and partners; i.e. Forest Incentives, ACD Direct (call center), CDP, and Greater Public.
  • Create and mail targeted letters, emails, and supplemental communication.
  • Manage inventory of station premiums and perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Two years experience in organizing and implementing fund-raising activities or customer service
  • Familiarity with specialized membership software (Allegiance).
  • Experience working in Public Television or Radio membership campaigns.
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications at a high level.

Salary/Hours:

This is a full-time management position working 40 plus hours per week Monday through Friday; some nights and weekends when necessary.   Lakeshore Public Media offers a competitive salary along with comprehensive health insurance, and generous vacation and holiday benefits.
